The World of Sign Language originated out of passion and heritage. American Sign Language is my first language (Shante), as both of my parents are deaf! I have been communicating with my parents only using my hands since I was a year old! Wow! Blake and Haven have been learning since the age of one as well, as it is very important that they are able to communicate with their grandparents!

 

Over the years,  I’ve begun to realize that I would love to teach it. To teach about the culture, how to sign, and understanding how body language and facial expressions play a huge role in communicating with the deaf community.
